The Energy Certificate is an official document that assesses the energy efficiency of a home. This certificate classifies efficiency on a letter scale, ranging from the most efficient (letter A) to the least efficient (letter G), similar to appliance labels. It provides relevant information about the energy consumption and CO2 emissions of the property, enabling potential buyers or tenants to make informed decisions regarding the efficiency and operating costs of the home.
The Energy Certificate must be submitted in two key situations:
Sale of a property: If you want to sell a house in Spain, it is mandatory to have an Energy Certificate and display its energy label in the sales advertisements.
Rental of a property: When renting out a property, it is also necessary to have an Energy Certificate and display its energy label in the rental advertisements.
El Certificado Energético incluye la siguiente información:
Property Identification:
Detailed description of the dwelling or building.
Energy Efficiency Rating:
A classification on a letter scale (A to G) indicating the energy efficiency of the property.
Energy Consumption:
Numerical value expressing the amount of energy consumed per square meter per year.
CO2 Emissions:

The calculation of the energy rating is based on factors such as energy consumption for heating, cooling, hot water, ventilation, and lighting. The official software recognized by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge is used. Technicians conduct detailed measurements and analysis to obtain the final result.
To issue an Energy Certificate, the following information is required:
Property Details: Location, size, layout, and orientation.
